Punjab To Distribute 2,472 Sets Of Agri Machinery Among Farmers On 8th

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -7th Sept,2016) : The Punjab government is going to hold draw at all tehsils to provide a set of five agriculture machines to 2,472 farmers each at a price subsidized by 50 per cent on Sep 8 (Thursday).

The draw to be held across Punjab under supervision of assistant commissioners would mark the beginning of the process of distribution of agriculture machinery among farmers under Punjab government's vision of introducing mechanized farming at all the agriculture fields in the province, says a release issued by media liaison unit of Punjab agriculture department Wednesday.

A set comprises five machines, including Seed-cum-fertilizers Rabi drill, Rotovator, Chizel Plough, Disc Harrow, and Sugarcane Ridger.

A large number of farmers filed applications till August 8 and lists were prepared till September 5.

The draw would be held at each tehsil under supervision of assistant commissioners concerned till 5pm on Sep 8. Farmers to be filtered out as recipients of machinery through draw would be required to complete booking process till Sep 30 with the prequalified manufacturers of agriculture machinery.

Those who would fail to initiate booking process within seven days after draw would lose the right to avail subsidy and they would not be able to challenge this cancellation in any court of law. The pre-qualified manufacturers would supply machinery to farmers till November 30, the release concluded.
