Local residents of Mandi Bahauddin have complained that shopkeepers and vendors have encroached upon the city footpaths and no safe space is left for pedestrians to walk.
MANDI BAHAUDDIN, (Pakistan Point News - 06th Feb, 2018) : Local residents of Mandi Bahauddin have complained that shopkeepers and vendors have encroached upon the city footpaths and no safe space is left for pedestrians to walk. Similarly shopkeepers and vendors have occupied three-fourth portion of bazaars leaving no space to drive on. The residents said that paucity of space had been creating hardships for public. They further stated that encroachments were increasing with every passing day as no body from the concerned authorities is serious to remove them.
As a result shopkeepers, fruit vendors and hawkers have permanently occupied footpaths and roadsides to enhance their business. Shop keepers and customers park vehicles in bazaars that frequently cause traffic jams. Encouraged by inaction of the relevant authority, shop keepers have encroached high way on its both sides all along. These encroachments are big hurdles for traffic that often become cause of road accidents. Citizens have urged concerned authorities to take notice of encroachment issue and the difficulties it caused to them. They also called upon the Municipal Administration to clear encroachments from footpaths and bazars for convenience of the public.
