Senators call for exposing hands involved in Quetta, Mardan carnage

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -7th Sept,2016) : Senators from both sides of the isle on Wednesday condemning the Quetta and Mardan terrorist attacks called for exposing the hands involved in the carnage and revisit all policies regarding law and order.

Rubina Irfan of PML-Q said a well educated class of Balochistan was lost in the tragic incident. She said the people wanted to know about perpetrators of Quetta, Mardan and Christain colony terrorist attacks.

Senator Daud Achakzai of ANP said it was third attack on lawyers community and the enemies wanted to silent our educated class. He said despite the passage of one month no progress had been made in investigation of the August 2, Quetta carnage.

Senator Mir Kabir Ahmed said the incident was a genocide of our generation in which more than 70 people were killed, majority of them were lawyers and added that the people of Balochistan could not forget this incident for 100 year.

Lt.Gen.(Retd) Abdul Qayyum of PML-N said August 8, incident was a national tragedy and it was an attack on the state of Pakistan. He said the enemy wanted to tell the world that Pakistan was an unsafe country and added our enemies could not digest the CPEC.

He said border management with Afghanistan was a must and added that terrorism was an international issue and terrorists have no religion.

Sardar Mohammad Azam Khan Musa Khel was critical of genocide of Pakhtoon and Baloch people.

He said Balochistan had been used for proxy war in the past before the CPEC. He said such incident was tantamount to push the under-developed province towards darkness. Dr. Jahanzeb Jamaldine, whose son was also killed in the carnage, said the time had come to take lesson from our past's mistakes.

He said most of the injured were died due to lack of facilities at the civil hospital. He said unfortunately there were only three operation theatres in the civil hospital where only three surgeon were performing their duty and added how could they handled such a huge casualty.

He said there was no active trauma centre in Quetta and also demanded an early investigation of the incident. He also called for an end to visit of the VVIP to the hospitals on such occasions as it disturbed provision of medical facilities there.

Senator Nihal Hashmi said terrorism was an international issue and instead of mud-slinging on each other "We should fight it as a nation ". Senators Farhat Ullah Babar, Dr.Ashoke Kumar, Naseema Ihsan, Javed Abbasi, Hafiz Hamdullah and Gul Bashara also spoke on the occasion and called for adopting a proactive approach to foil such kind of incidents in future.
