A Chinese national was killed while another citizen was injured among two people on Monday in a target killing incident reported in Defence Housing Authority (DHA).
KARACHI, (Pakistan Point News - 05th Feb, 2018) : A Chinese national was killed while another citizen was injured among two people on Monday in a target killing incident reported in Defence Housing Authority (DHA). South District Deputy Inspector General (DIG) reported that the attack comes as a target killing attempt. Police said that the two targeted foreign nationals were employed by a chinese shipping company and resided in Lalazaar area.
According to a private television channel, one of the foreign nationals fatally received two bullets in his head while the other ran out of the car saving his life. Gunfires by the unidentified attackers left a local injured and a Chinese national. The South DIG further said that two shells fired from a 9mm pistol were seized at the attack site which were dispatched to be examined at a forensic laboratory. Probe was launched by police in light of statements of the witnesses. Thousands of Chinese engineers and technicians are working in Pakistan. China is ramping up investment as part of a $54 billion project known as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, upgrading infrastructure, power and transport links between its far-western Xinjiang region and Pakistan’s Gwadar port.
