Irfan Siddiqui visits NBF Peshawar Office

Advisor to Prime Minister for National History and Literary Heritage, Irfan Siddiqui visited the National Book Foundation, Regional Office Peshawar.

PESHAWAR,(Pakistan Point News - 03rd Feb, 2018) : Advisor to Prime Minister for National History and Literary Heritage, Irfan Siddiqui visited the National Book Foundation, Regional Office Peshawar. He was also accompanied by Federal Secretary National History and Literary Heritage Division, Engineer Amir Hassan and Joint Secretary Abdul Majeed Niazi. Managing Director of National Book Foundation, Dr. Inam ul Haq Javeid welcomed the honorable guests along with the Deputy Director NBF Peshawar Office Mr.

Murad Ali Mohmand there. Advisor to Prime Minister for National History and Literary Heritage, Mr. Irfan Siddiqui visited the different parts of the NBF Regional Office, the bookshops and various places of it. Regional Incharge of Peshawar, Murad Ali Mohmand presented a Performance Report of his office to the officers of the National History and Literary Heritage Division. In the meeting, Managing Director, NBF Dr. Inam ul Haq Javeid also briefed them about the Regional Office Peshawar’s Book Culture and Literary activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).

He said that the KPK province is spread vastly with areas of foothills, green forests and fertile fields. Through the "Books on Wheel", participation in the Book Fairs and Readers Club Scheme, the book promotion culture has been spreading far and wide in different remote and difficult areas of the province. The Managing Director said that NBF Readers' Club membership has been reached to the book-lovers of Chitral, Mardan, Swabi, Malakand, Dera Ismail Khan and FATA with a purpose of books for all in the country.

At this occasion, Mr. Irfan Siddiqui, Advisor to Prime Minister for National History and Literary Heritage appreciated National Book Foundation and its controlling Division in dissemination of knowledge, literary activities and book culture in Pakistan. He said, “Book reading mission has been brought at the threshold of each home of every citizen with an aim of promoting soft image of our country”. He said further that we hold National Book day Festival annually in the month of April and it is a very good literary activity for promotion of book culture and inculcation of reading habit among the people particularly youth.

He also lauded the active participation of National Book Foundation, in addition of holding numbers of Book Festivals throughout the year especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Mr. Irfan Siddiqui gave necessary instructions for renovation of NBF Peshawar Office as well.
