Tribesmen protest against mass arrests, brutal behavior of FC in Khyber Agency

Hundreds of tribesmen and leaders of political parties staged a protest demonstration against what they alleged mass arrests and brutal behaviour of Khyber Rifles'(FC) against the loyal citizens of Landikotal.

BARA, (Pakistan Point News - 01st Feb, 2018) : Hundreds of tribesmen and leaders of political parties staged a protest demonstration against what they alleged mass arrests and brutal behaviour of Khyber Rifles'(FC) against the loyal citizens of Landikotal. The protesters belonging to Landikotal, including businessmen, political parties leaders and youths gathered at Bacha Khan Chowk in Landikotal bazaar and chanted slogans against Khyber Rifles' officials.

They were holding placards and black flags to record their protest against the misbehaviour of the officials and the mass arrests of innocent patriotic citizens of Landikotal. Speaking on the occasion, Naib Ameer Jamat-i-Islami (JI) Zar Noor Afridi, Awami National Party (ANP) Khyber Agency Leader, Shah Hussain Shinwari; Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Landikotal leader, Abdur Raziq Shinwari and Zarqeeb Shinwari strongly criticized the misbehaviour of Khyber Rifles'(FC) officials against innocent people of Landikotal.

The protesters said the FC action not only disseminate sentiment of hated among the tribesmen about them. He lamented the Khyber Rifles for the attitude with the locals. They accused that some FC officials in Landikotal spoil the good image of security force among the citizens of the country. "The FC officials should make their intelligence sources better rather than to make mass arrests for a single crime committed by unknown person.

They should stop annoying innocent people in the name of security measures," they expressed. Expressing their grievances they further said that FC had snatched non-custom paid vehicles from poor people which they were using as taxi and earn bread for their families. They appealed from the chief of Army Staff, Qamar Javed Bajwa and Inspector General of Frontier Corps for take immediate notice of the situation in Landikotal. The leaders threatened if their demands were not addressed they would block the Pak-Afghan highway in Landikotat and will expand protest demonstrations countrywide against the discrimination.
