Four solar tube wells inaugurated in Bara

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -7th Sept,2016) : Four solar tube wells have been inaugurated in different villages of the Bara subdivision of Khyber agency. Member of National Assembly Haji Nasir Khan has inaugurated these tube wells in Surkas, Jhansai, Gulmar Madrassa and Sipah areas, private news channel reports.

According to the officials of the Public Health and Engineering department, which supervised the project, overhead water tank was also constructed with each solar tube well. The officials added that each water tank can store up to 10,000 liter water, which will provide clean drinking water to about 300 households.

The tube wells and the overhead water tanks were completed at a cost of Rs25 million, added the officials. Local residents of the area have expressed happiness over the completion of the projects and said they would easily get portable water.

Khan Afzal, a local tribesman hoped that people of Shalobar and Alam Gudar would be benefited from the projects as they had been facing problems of water shortage since long. APP/meh/rn
