LAHORE, (Pakistan Point News - 25th Jan, 2018 ) A dense fog blanketed parts of Punjab Wednesday night and continued until Thursday morning leading to a number of accidents injuring several people. Various sections of the Motorway, including that from Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad and Gojra, as well as from Khanewal and Multan up to Burhan Interchange North, were closed for traffic due to the fog. On Kasur Road, Lahore, several people were injured as 10 vehicles crashed into each other.

Rescue sources said that an over speeding passenger van got out of control of driver due to poor visibility caused by fog and it over turned near Faizpur Interchange in Sheikhupura. As a result of accident 15 people were injured who were shifted to hospital by rescue personnel where condition of some wounded people was stated to be serious. A Sadiqabad-Faisalabad bound passenger bus turned turtle near Chak 4 in Khanpur area of Rahim Yar Khan. Five people were injured in the accident who were shifted to hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast heavy fog in plain areas and upper parts of Sindh during the next twenty four hours.
