Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif during his visit to Layyah on Tuesday inaugurated several development projects and laid the foundation stones of various new schemes costing billions of rupees.

LAHORE, (Pakistan Point News - 23th Jan, 2018) : Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif during his visit to Layyah on Tuesday inaugurated several development projects and laid the foundation stones of various new schemes costing billions of rupees. The Chief Minister on the occasion announced setting up of university and a technical college in Layyah besides making an announcement of special fund of Rs.30 crore each to make Layyah, Chobara and Chowk Azam as model cities.

He also launched National Health Card Programme for one lakh and 37 thousand people along with four mobile health units project for Layyah. Addressing a big public gathering at Milad Chowk Layyah, Shehbaz Sharif said that latest CT scan machine has been installed at DHQ Hospital Layyah to provide round-the-clock facility. Similarly, mobile hospitals have been provided for latest treatment and diagnostic facilities to the people at their doorsteps.

Now the people will not have to go to other cities for treatment or CT scan as same facilities are available in district’s hospital. He said that it is sanguine that people are getting high-quality medicines which were earlier available to the ruling elite only. We sent 123 samples of medicines to international laboratories for analysis and all the samples have been passed. It is the revolution which we have brought in the health sector.

Meanwhile, high standard roads have been constructed in rural areas during the last five years and asphalt roads have been constructed in Layyah with an amount of Rs.5 billion. The Chief Minister asked the people whether they have seen such roads in rural areas in the past. Pakistan Muslim League-N, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and I promised that we will change the destiny of the nation and if we are accorded an opportunity in 2018 too, then we will transform Layyah as a developed city.

He said that revolutionary steps have been taken for the development of agriculture sector and heavy subsidy has been given to the farmers. It has been happened for the first time that interest-free loans have been given to small scale farmers. In addition to it, stipends to the tune of billions of rupees are being given to the brilliant students belonging to low-income families through PEEF and more than three lakh students are getting education through this fund.

We have also promoted a culture of merit and all the recruitment have been made purely on merit, he added. The Chief Minister alleged that chairman Pakistan Teheek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan speaks lies day and night. When dengue spread in Peshawar, he escaped to the mountains of Nathia Gali instead of helping the people there and when it attacked Lahore, he ridiculed us and taunted us as ‘dengue brothers.’ When dengue attacked Peshawar, we sent medical teams, mobile hospital and best medicines there.

Niazi Sahib is used to of speaking lies and he also lied about sowing one billion trees in KPK. I ask you that the person who speaks lies all the time have the right of your votes? Shehbaz was of the view that Imran claimed he will remove darkness of load-shedding in KPK and will also generate electricity for the whole of Pakistan, but he is unable to generate even a kilowatt of electricity after the passage of four and a half year.

Khan Sahib termed Lahore metro bus service as ‘Jangla Bus’ and said that he will not run metro bus service in Peshawar and the funds will be rather utilized for the institutions of health and education but this man has failed to develop any hospital, educational institutions or metro bus there. After the passage of four and a half year, he has realized to run metro bus in Peshawar but is unable to even start the project. On the other side, Zardari Sahib claimed that he has come to take stock of the corruption of Sharif family.

It is a divine joke that a person who is totally drenched in corruption is saying that he has come to take stock of corruption. If it is not a doomsday then what should we call it? Zardari and his team did nothing except corruption in Sindh. Funds to the tune of billions of rupees have been given during last 25 years to Larkana which is called the bastion of Bhutto family but not a single penny is seen to be spent there. The Chief Minister said that PML-N has selflessly served the people and it is all possible that something is missing in serving to the people but we have spent every penny for the welfare of the people as a custodian of resources.

If you have elected us again then the mobile hospitals which have been given for Layyah district will also be provided to Chowk Azam, Tehsil Layyah and Chobara to provide best healthcare facilities at the doorsteps of the people. He said that Pakistan was drowned in darkness in 2013 as heavy load-shedding had plunged cities and villages in darkness. But the PML-N government has removed the shadow of darkness and electricity generation projects of thousands of megawatts capacity have been established under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.

On the other side, Niazi Sahib and Zardari Sahib did not establish electricity generation projects in their provinces. The electricity generation projects installed by us have been established at half the price of projects which were set up 15 years ago. If it is not public service then what it is and I have come to you along with this spirit of public service. Shehbaz Sharif said that electricity crisis is over and now public service institutions will fully illuminate.

The country will progress and new industries will be set up to generate more opportunities of employments. If the people gave an opportunity of public service in future as well then Pakistan will be made a great country in the comity of nations and it will be developed as a welfare state in accordance with the vision of Iqbal and Jinnah. He said that Pakistan was created to ensure rule of law after sacrificing the lives of lakhs of people so that judicious distribution of resources is ensured and there will be no cruelty in police stations.

Similarly, no injustice will be done in courts. We have to achieve this cherished goal and with the grace of Allah Almighty, these goals have to be achieved. The Chief Minister while talking about the complaints of sugarcane farmers in Layyah said that sugar mills should not indulge in any injustice to the farmers and warned that if they did not mend their ways, then mill owners will be sent to jails. The managers of sugar mills involved in injustice to the farmers are already behind bars and this includes a mill of my relative, as well.

I do not care for my relatives as I only care for the poor farmers and I shall go to every extent to give rights to the small and poor farmers, he added. I warn the sugar mill owners to mend their ways. Managers of many sugar mills have been arrested during the last 72 hours. I shall fight for the farmers and die for them and no one will be allowed to indulge in cruelty with anybody. He said that we started metro buses in Multan and speedo buses are running in Lodhran.

If Allah Almighty accorded an opportunity of public service again then speedo buses will also ply in Layyah, he added. The Chief Minister inaugurated Children’s Ward in DHQ Hospital Layyah which has been constructed with the cost of Rs.10.5 crore. He also inaugurated CT scan and four mobile health unit projects. He handed over keys of 75 ambulances and four hospital-waste management vehicles to the local administration. He formally inaugurated Sehat Card Programme in Layyah under National Health Card Programme.

On the occasion, he said that Health Insurance Scheme is being introduced in 13 more districts by the Punjab government through indigenous resources. Registered families can get daily treatment facility up to 50 thousand rupees through health card; while in case of any chronic disease, the amount can be increased to three lakh rupees. He laid the foundation of Layyah-Chowk Azam dual carriageway which will be constructed with the cost of Rs.

3.97 billion rupees and the first phase will be completed in June. This road facility will provide travelling facilities to lakhs of local people. He laid the foundation of mega drainage project of Rs.30 crore for Layyah, projects of Naullah Lallah Head Regulatory, 29-KM long embankment from Bait Monger to Bhakkar and five spurs projects. He laid the foundation of construction of spur embankment in Bait Kaji and Samra Nashaib. Provincial Ministers Khawaja Salman Rafiq, Mehar Ijaz Ahmad Achlana, members of provincial and national assemblies belonging to Layyah and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
