PTI welcomes NAB’s review petition to reopen Hudaibiya Paper Mills Case

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has welcomed the review petition filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to reopen Hudaibiya Paper Mills Case. The PTI maintained that the argument of suspending court proceedings just because the subjected case dates back to old decades, is not legitimate and doesn’t accommodate the true principles of justice.

ISLAMABAD, (Pakistan Point News - 15th Jan, 2018) : Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has welcomed the review petition filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to reopen Hudaibiya Paper Mills Case. The PTI maintained that the argument of suspending court proceedings just because the subjected case dates back to old decades, is not legitimate and doesn’t accommodate the true principles of justice. According to the details issued by party’s Central Media Department on Monday, central Spokesperson of PTI Fawad Chaudhary has stated that PTI welcomes NAB’s review petition in the apex court to reopen Hudaibiya Paper Case.

“People are hoping that Chairman NAB will monitor this case of national importance”, he said adding that Chairman NAB needs to keenly observe prosecution branch’s activities as well. Fawad Chaudhary said, “Important legal points of this case needed explanation. It would be a matter of extreme significance that a three member bench is to review a verdict issued by five member larger bench of the same court on the same case.” He further said that refusing court proceedings just because the subjected case dates back to old decades, is not legitimate and doesn’t accommodate the true principles of justice.

Nation is eyeing on this case which involves money laundering of billions of rupees, he said. Fawad Chaudhary expressed grave concerns over Prime Minister’s role in appointment of Prosecutor General NAB. He resolved that nation will resist every move to influence case proceedings through the Prime Minister.
