KARACHI,(Pakistan Point News - 15th Jan, 2018 ) : Two personnel of Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) accused of fatally shooting a youth in Karachi’s posh locality of Defence area have surrendered before the authorities on Monday (today). The accused are also expected to turn up at court alongside other policemen for their alleged involvement. A 25-year-old youth – Intizar Ahmed – was shot dead by the ACLC personnel when he did not stop after being signalled to stop.

Following the incident, two contradictory accounts of the incident emerged as police claimed that the youth was killed by unidentified armed assailants riding motorcycle. Later, the parents of slain student alleged that the ACLC personnel didn’t open fire at his son with an intention to stop him, but to kill him. Intizar was the only son of his parents and had recently come back from Malaysia. His father, Ishtiaq Ahmed, had appealed Chief Justice of Pakistan to take cognizance of the incident and play his due role in providing justice to the family.

Ahmed claimed the police were attempting to present the murder of his son as an accidental death. DIG Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Saqib Ismail confirmed that the personnel, who he said opened fire at Intezar in Defence Housing Authority’s Khayaban-e-Ittehad early Sunday morning to stop him, were taken into custody Moreover, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of the issue and issued directives to police to bring the perpetrators of firing incident to justice. Meanwhile, District sessions court (South) on Monday issued a seven-day physical remand of the eight police personnel
