KARACHI, (Pakistan Point News - 15th Jan, 2018) : Police have arrested a seminary teacher for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old student in the city’s Gulistan-e-Johar locality. The minor boy informed police that the cleric, Qari Muhammad Saleem sexually assaulted him on Friday night inside the madrassah, which prompted the police to conduct a raid and apprehend the accused. A medical examination confirmed the sexual assault, after which a case was registered against the cleric, police said.
Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Khan Siyal has taken notice of the incident, seeking a detailed inquiry report from East Deputy Inspector General of Police. A number of sexual assault cases against minors in the country have surfaced in the past month. A six-year-old boy was sexually assaulted in a Karachi bakery on January 8. Meanwhile, Police recovered dead body of a youth from an under-construction building in Korangi Chakra Goth area of Karachi. The deceased was identified as 24-year-old Nazir. Police sources said that torture marks were visible on the body of deceased. On the other hand, police conducted an operation in Manghopir area and arrested a man and a woman involved in a murder case. Police sources said that the accused Asma and Tayyab had killed a man named Farooq.
