Gwadar Airport To Have One Window Facilitation Desk For OPs By October

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -5th Sep,2016) : Federal Ombudsman would establish One Window Facilitation Desk for Overseas Pakistanis (OPs) at Gwadar Airport by the month of October for redressal of their problems.
Talking to APP on Monday, Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis to the Federal Ombudsman, Hafiz Ahsan Ahmad Khokhar said that the facilitation desks for OPs were earlier established at Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Sialkot and Faisalabad Airports.
"And now the next Facilitation Desk will be set up at Gwadar Airport to help OPs resolve their minor as well as major issues", he said. Hafiz Ahsan Khokhar said the facilitation desks for OPs at eight airports have received overall 32,476 complaints since operational including 947 formal complaints.
The complaints were instantly resolved through a mechanism devised by Federal Ombudsman, he added. A total of 455 complaints were received from the facilitation desk at Islamabad Airport, 298 from Lahore, 173 from Karachi, 11 from Peshawar, one from Quetta, six from Multan and seven from Sialkot.
Hafiz Ahsan Khokhar said that the complaints filed by the OPs were mostly related to lost luggage and issues related to Passport and National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis etc. The facilitation desk also provide all the necessary information to the OPs for travelling whenever they need, he added.
The Federal Ombudsman had involved 12 agencies for resolving the complaints including Federal Investigation Authority, Overseas Employment Corporation, Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment, Directorate General Immigration and Passports, Civil Aviation Authority, Pakistan International Airline, Anti Narcotics Force, Airport Security Force, Pakistan Customs, Ministry of Health and Airlines Representations.
