FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Dec, 2017 ) :Former President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) and Chief Executive Officer Sitara Chemical Industries Mian Muhammad Idrees has said that Steel Industry is the basic and fundamental component of all industries, therefore, they have decided to set up a new steel mill under the brand name of "Sitara" in Faisalabad.

Addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of "Sitara Steel Industry" near Balochni Police Station on Sheikhupura Road, he said that Sitara is a renowned brand that has excelled in many diversified fields.

"Now, we are establishing a steel industry which will give a quantum jump to the economic activates in the region in addition to providing jobs to the residents of this vicinity," he added. Mian Javaid Iqbal Chief Executive Officer of Sitara Steel Industry said that the initiative will also attract other industrialists to invest in this profitable sector and play their role in making "steel" yet another iconic representation of Faisalabad.

He said, "We are very conscious of the environment pollution and it is in this respect that environment friendly machines and technology have been used in this unit." Earlier, General Manager technical Waseem Qamar briefed the participants that Sitara steel will be the latest mill of the country.

This project is sprawling over three phases, he said and added, "In first phase we will produce 1.5 lakh tons of Steel billets. Similarly in second phase we will establish a state of the art bar rolling mill while in third phase the production capacity of Sitara Steel Industry will be enhanced to 300,000 ton per annum."
