AIOU Students To Get Web-Tv Academic Support

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Dec, 2017 ) :Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) on Monday announced that it has reinforced its multi-media system to provide academic support to its 1.3 students across the country.
Through the Web-Tv, the students will be able to know more about the contents and programs of their academic courses, a news release said. This is in addition to audio and video support, the students are already receiving through educational programs of Pakistan Television, Radio Pakistan and the University�s FM radio.
Such media's support is also available on demand. Now, the students could also get access to their respective courses by visiting the University�s Web-Tv. This is the part of the University�s consistent efforts to further improve its distance learning system, catering the students� academic needs.
On the initiative of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddqui, the University has launched a number of IT�s training courses for the capacity-building of their staff, facilitating them to prepare best possible audio-Video academic programs.
He believes that a learning organization needs to update and equip itself with new developments in the competitive era.
The University has launched a number of professional development programs in recent years for improving official performance of its staff, in term of skill, knowledge and attitude.
According to Ejaz Ahmed, Director Institute of Educational Technology, a long-term in-house professional development training is in process to upgrade technical know-how of about forty members of their staff.
During the training process, the staff members were being updated about production and planning management, non-linear editing, camera control system, graphics designing and composition and make-up techniques.
Visit to television broadcast station installations have also been arranged during the visit. Recently, the University launched a television production training program in collaboration with the Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV).
That program helped a lot improve the academic standard of multimedia-based courses at the varsity. A trainer from the ptv imparted professional training to producers and designers who are involved in course development.
