NIP Receives 146,000 Applications For Phase Four: DG NIP

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Nov, 2017 ) :Director General of National internship programme (NIP) Hadyatullah Khan Wednesday said that Ministry of Interprovincial Coordination (IPC) had received 146,000 internship applications against 15,000 available seats.
He said that applicant's academic record had already been sent to Higher education Commission (HEC) for further verification, and it would be completed soon. The DG NIP told APP, the Internship would be distributed among the provinces under the formula of National Finance Commission (NFC).
The age limit for the applicant of less privileged areas including Baluchistan, Gilgit Baltistan, and Fata has been increased from 25 to 30 years to accommodate more students of the neglected areas, he added.
He informed that the students of Wafaq ul Madras who hold the degree equal to the graduation would also be consider for the internship programme, adding that that 84,000 students were already being benefiting from this facility.
Hidayatullah said that the government was committed to accommodate maximum number of applicants under the umbrella of NIP. He said there was no quota on gender basis, therefore female applicants were especially encouraged to apply for internship programme.
He further said that more than 60 percent of the country population consisted of youth and most of them were unemployed. He said that 29,000 internees had successfully completed their internship out of 84,000, and the remaining were in the process of completing their internships.
He hoped that after announcement of more internship, unemployment ratio would be reduced considerably in the country. He said the Prime Minister Internship programme aimed to channelize and streamline the energies of Pakistani educated youth to realize their immense economic potential for the benefit of the country.
