UET Signs MoU With WSSC Mardan

University of Engineering Technology (UET) Peshawar and Water and Sanitation Company (WSSC) Mardan signed an MoU to establish linkage through National Institute of Urban Infrastructure Planning in the areas of solid waste management, and water and sanitation services
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Nov, 2017 ) :University of Engineering Technology (UET) Peshawar and Water and Sanitation Company (WSSC) Mardan signed an MoU to establish linkage through National Institute of Urban Infrastructure Planning in the areas of solid waste management, and water and sanitation services.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Iftikhar Hussain, Vice Chancellor UET and Engr. Nasir Ghafoor Khan, Chief Executive Office, WSSC Mardan in presence of senior officials of the University and WSSC Mardan on Monday.
Under the MoU, researchers and WSSC staff will jointly work for capacity building of professionals and provide expertise to the WSSC in research and innovation related areas. In exchange, there will be seminars and hands-on trainings conducted by UET faculty to the professionals.
The MoU covers different aspects of core engineering component of project in terms of trainings and offer an opportunity for joint research projects and potential financial support for research scholars.
Engr. Nasir said, the projects will seek the support of international agencies including Swiss Development Company, World Bank and Asian Development Bank in the areas of research and innovation so that the society would be benefited in real terms.
Dr. Rashid Rehan, Director NIUIP gave the details of MoU that NIUIP and WSSS Mardan are working from inception in research-based projects towards sustainability of innovative ideas. Dr. Iftikhar Hussain assured his support in exchange of this MOU. Dr. Noor Muhammad Pro-Vice Chancellor also spoke on the occasion.
