Zimbabwe: Planning To Dehorn National Park’s 100 Rhinos To Prevent From Hunting

Harare, (Pakistan Point News – 31st August, 2016) : Zimbabwe's government plans to cut Rhinos’ horns to prevent Rhino poaching in the National Park. Wildlife group said that last year 50 Rhinos were hunted illegally in National Park. According to conservation groups, Rhino horn is prized in Asia for use in traditional medicine and surging demand has led to more poaching. A record 1,305 rhino were killed illegally in Africa last year, most of them in South Africa. Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority will remove horns from 100 rhino in State Game Park.
