HEC To Introduce Online Degree Verification System Soon

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th August, 2016) : Higher education Commission (HEC) was making efforts to upgrade all existing degree verification system and its records into the modern online system by taking pivotal steps in this regard. Earlier, the attestation and accreditation (AA) division of HEC looks into the affairs of degree verification, equivalence through conventional means to check the credibility of a degree. According to an official of the commission, to stop issuance of dubious and fake degrees HEC has finalized a software in collaboration with the National Database Regulatory Authority (NADRA) that will issue a specific code for each degree. Through the system, he said, the old system of degree verification would be converted into the modern way.
The process of introducing online system will take a short time as HEC has to upgrade the record of millions of students studying in the higher educational institutions of the country. The official told APP, that in the future plans of the HEC, a modern system was being introduced through which the commission will receive the online record of any student automatically, who will get admission anywhere of the HEC recognize universities. Another official said that HEC contacts academics when the degree is of some high-profile person or there are signs of doubt.
Sources from the attestation and accreditation department of HEC informed that there were numerous physical records and academic parameters that were ascertained.
