30 Players Short-listed For Peshawar District Girls U-17 Cricket Camp

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th August, 2016) : The selection committee headed by Pakistan cricket board Women Wing Coordinator Raham Bibi Monday short-listed 30 probables out of a total 46 probables appeared in the trials held here at Frontier College for Women ground to select Peshawar District Girls Under-17 team. Talking to APP, PCB Women Wing Coordinator Raham Bibi disclosed that a total of 46 players appeared in the trials wherein the performance of the players including bowling, batting and fielding were monitored. The trials, she said, were held in a cordial atmosphere with players turned up from the whole district.
She disclosed that a selection committee in her supervision with two other members comprising international cricketer Salma Faiz and PCB coach Saltanat witnessed the performance of the girls players before short-listing them for the camp.
In the first phase, she said, a total of 30 players were short-listed for the camp to be starting from Wednesday.
"We would also see the performance of 30 short-listed players and would further short-list the Names to 22 for the camp to be continued for a month. The camp would be organized on the same venue," Raham Bibi added.
She said the final selection would be made after completion of a month long camp. The selected final team would represent Peshawar in the forthcoming Under-17 National Girls Cricket Championship to be organized under the aegis of PCB at Lahore in the last week of September this year.
