Pak Navy Lahore chief appreciates Rescue-1122 performance

 LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th August, 2016) : Pakistan Navy's Station Commander Lahore Commodore SM Shahzad (SI) Military has said that performance of Rescue 1122 in Punjab showed praise-worthy training standards in this training institute. During a meeting with under-training cadets here at the Emergency Services academy on Monday, he said rescuers were earning their livelihood and at the same time serving the humanity during disasters including natural or manmade calamities. The commodore also met DG Amir Hamza and assured him of full support from Pakistan Navy regarding technical expertise and flood management skills for Disaster Response Force of Rescue 1122 in future.

He said the sister organisations worked shoulder-to-shoulder during disasters including floods, earthquakes, fires, etc. Addressing on the occasion, Amir Hamza said appreciated the Pakistan Navy role in either controlling Exclusive Economic Zone or dealing with natural calamities. He said the Punjab Emergency Academy had become a national center of excellence owing to free-of-cost training to the cadets of other provinces including Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Balochistan and Sindh. SM Shahzad urged the rescuers to carry out their legacy of professionalism through excellence during their training and in the field.
