FBL, MALC Determined To Work Together For Local Community

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th August, 2016) : Faysal Bank limited (FBL) and Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC) here on Monday expressed their resolve to work together for helping the local community to live a better and healthy life.
Dr. Ruth Pfau, founder of Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC) with senior faculty members called on President FBL, Nauman Ansari here. Speaking on the occasion, President FBL said that FBL has been closely working for about half a decade with MALC in their project of tuberculosis control in Gilgit Baltistan.
He said that MALC has established medical units in Kharmong, Rondu, Shigar, Skardu, etc. where lots of patients with TB have been successfully treated. Dr. Ruth Pfau informed about the MALC's landmark achievements in Pakistan and scope of their vast medical services through more than 160 control centres for leprosy, blindness, tuberculosis, disability and rehabilitation programs.
"If we improve our education and socio-economic conditions along with poverty alleviation, just through awareness programs, serious diseases can be avoided by taking precautionary steps," she added. She said socially responsible corporate organizations like Faysal Bank are rendering a pivotal performance to help the welfare organizations bring relief to the marginalized segment in the country.
She appreciated the FBL for their time, financial assistance and cooperation in different social welfare projects. Nauman Ansari, President & CEO also presented a donation cheque to Dr.
Ruth Pfau. Pakistan was a blessed country where genuine role models like Dr. Ruth Pfau whose altruism and commitment to serve humanity is truly not only commendable but legendary, he added.
