PESCO Nab 143 Power Stealers

PESHAWAR (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -29th Augst,2016) : The PESCO teams Monday continued raids and arrested 143 more power stealers during various successful actions in different areas of the province. The PESCO Spokesman in a press release issued here said on the directions of Chief Executive Pesco, Anwarul Haq Yousafzai, drive against illegal use of electricity was accelerated throughout the province. The surveillance team along with PESCO police, raided in different areas and apprehanded 143 more power stealers red handed. As many as 13 electricity stealers were caught in Khyber Circle in Pabbi-1 sub-division including the tampered meter of a stone factory whereas in Pirpai sub division, nine power stealers were apprehended including two afghan refugees for slowing their electricity meters. In areas of Batkhela sub division 1, Dargai sub division 22, urban Swat sub division 2, Mingora sub division 5, Chakdara sub division 13, Wari sub division 8 and Themargara sub division 10 alleged power stealers including Gulistan bakers, Altaf general store, Delawar tailor Wari, Mavia hotel Mangora, Al-Janat bakry Swat, Sadat stone and Ice factory were arrested.

Similarly, in the areas of Gumbala sub division 6, direct connection of nine tube wells and water supply scheme in the areas of Sarai Norang sub division were seized. During checking in the areas of Hazara circles, 25 alleged electricity stealers were nabbed in Abbotabad sub-division and 18 power stealers including petrol pumps, ice cream machine, Wahid marble factory and other marble factories were apprehended in Jinnahabad sub division.

Some marble factories were also nabbed for using extra load other than the sanctioned load.
