Poonch Protest Slams War On Kashmiri People

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -29th Augst,2016) : A protest demonstration was organised in Poshana village of Surankote in Poonch district of Occupied Kashmir (IOK) by Jammu and Kashmir People's Movement against the war declared by the government of India on innocent people of Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service, JKPM central leader Mir Shahid Saleem in a statement in Srinagar said, "Indian forces in Kashmir are at war with the innocent and unarmed civilians who are protesting against gross human rights violations." "Indian forces are engaged in full scale genocide of Kashmiris to crush their ongoing struggle for the right to self-determination," they said.
He said that India had failed to break the resolve of freedom-loving people of Kashmir despite the worst kind of oppression. Several protests have been held in Muslim-majority areas of Chenab Valley region in Jammu division. About half a dozen people have been booked under the draconian Public Safety Act for participating in such protests. He said People of Kashmir are grateful to the people and govt of Pakistan for the moral, political and diplomatic support being extended to the Kashmir cause.
He welcomed the appointment of 22 MPs by the government of Pakistan to garner global support for the Kashmir cause.
