Tokyo stocks rally by break after Yellen speech

TOKYO,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -29th Augst,2016) : Tokyo stocks rallied Monday morning after Federal Reserve chief Janet Yellen suggested that US interest rates could rise before the end of the year, weakening the Yen and boosting exporters. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index soared 2.24 percent, or 366.81 points, to 16,727.52 by the break, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares surged 2.10 percent, or 27.03 points, to 1,314.93.
