Power Supply Normal In Most Areas, Claims K Electric

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th August, 2016) : K-Electric teams managed to re-energize the feeders that tripped due to heavy rains on Saturday. A K-Electric spokesman said out of the affected feeders, 50 feeders were re-energized immediately whereas the remaining 200 were restored within a few hours.
Affected areas included North Karachi and Landhi, parts of Gulshan e Iqbal and North Nazimabad, as well as few pockets in Defence. The overall system remained intact during the downpour.
Power supply to strategic installations including Airport and Dhabeji remained uninterrupted.
According to KE spokesperson, KE's Rapid Response teams remained alert following prediction of rain.
The teams responded swiftly to restore electricity to the affected areas. The KE helpline and ground teams continue to work round the clock to address any localized faults. Consumers are advised to stay away from any broken wires, electrical poles and transformers.
Moreover, customers are requested to inform the utility of any broken wires or complaints by calling on 118 or 021-99000. Queries may also be sent via SMS to 8119 or through KE's digital platforms, the spokesman added.
