PNCA Stages `Anhi Mai Da Sufna'

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th August, 2016) : `The play "Anhi Mai Da Sufna" was staged here Thursday by Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) in collaboration with Ajoka theatre. According to a PNCA official, the play is written by Shahid Nadeem and directed by Usha Ganguli.
Its theme is `dreams which refuse to die'. The old woman, main character of the play, has some dreams for her native village `Praem Nagar'. The official said the story was based on people who had to leave their native village because of the partition of the Sub-continent. The play envoked keen interest among the audience, who watched it till the end because of its thought-provoking story.
"The response of the audience was encouraging for us.
We will try to perform our roles much better in future," one of the artist taling part in play said. "The play has highlighted the issues being faced by society and their solutions through artistic expressions," he added. Zoya Khan, a viewer, said the story was very good as all the artists enthralled the audience with flawless performance. Besides providing quality entertainment to the people of the Federal Capital, the play would promote the concept of theatre in the twin cities, she added. The play will also be staged on Sunday at 7 pm at the PNCA auditorium.
