Registrar office raises objection over JI's petition on 'Panama'

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th August, 2016) : Registrar office of the Supreme Court on Saturday raised objections on a petition filed by Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) seeking action over Panama papers. The Registrar office said that the petitioner has not approached any other appropriate forum available to him under the law for the same relief and no justification was provided for not doing so.

The Registrar office said that the certificate provided in the Constitution petition does not fulfill the requirements of a certificate as required under Rule 6 of Order XXV of Supreme Court Rules, 1980. In its objections the Registrar office stated that this petition prima facie appears to be a frivolous petition within the contemplation of Order XVII Rule 5 of the Supreme Court Rules, 1980.
