Court issues arrest warrants for Fawad Chaudhry in land bribery case

Judge orders authorities to arrest and produce the former minister before court, and adjourns hearing till June 30

RAWALPINDI: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 4th, 2025) A special anti-corruption court in Rawalpindi on Tuesday issued arrest warrants for former Federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in a corruption case related to alleged bribery in a land acquisition deal.

Judge Khawar Rasheed of the Anti-Corruption Court issued the non-bailable arrest warrants after Chaudhry failed to appear before the court despite repeated summons.

The judge ordered authorities to arrest and produce the former minister before the court, and adjourned the hearing till June 30.

The court also expressed strong displeasure over the failure to submit the challan (charge sheet), and directed the investigation officer to ensure its submission on the next date of hearing.

The case was registered at the Anti-Corruption Police Station Jhelum, accusing Fawad Chaudhry of receiving a substantial bribe during a land acquisition process.
