ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 3rd, 2025) The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved an $800 million loan for Pakistan, aimed at supporting economic stability and institutional reforms.
According to an official statement from the ADB, Pakistan has made significant progress in improving its macroeconomic conditions, and the approved funding is intended to strengthen the country's fiscal sustainability.
This program supports the government’s commitment to further policy and institutional reforms,” the ADB stated. “It aims to strengthen public finance and promote sustainable development.”
The statement further noted that the program is expected to reduce fiscal deficits and debt levels, while also creating greater fiscal space for development and social spending.
Since 1966, the ADB has provided more than $52 billion in support to Pakistan, contributing to various sectors including infrastructure, energy, education, and public finance reforms.
