Australian woman sets world record with 7,079 pull-ups in 24 hours

Olivia Vinsun, 34, admits that initially, she laughed at a suggestion, thinking it was impossible

SYDNEY: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-May 31st, 2025) An Australian fitness enthusiast has set a remarkable new world record by completing 7,079 pull-ups in a span of 24 hours, earning her a place in the Guinness World Records.

34-year-old Olivia Vinsun achieved the feat after months of intense training. Speaking to Guinness World Records, she shared that the idea began as a suggestion from her husband, who also serves as her coach.

“I was looking for a new challenge when my husband suggested attempting the record for the most pull-ups by a woman in 24 hours,” Vinsun said.

She admitted that initially, she laughed at the suggestion, thinking it was impossible. “When I saw the existing record was 4,081, I thought it was beyond my capacity. But slowly, I began to seriously consider it.”

The previous record was held by Polish athlete Paula Gorlo, set in 2021. Determined to surpass it, Vinsun began preparing with a rigorous three-month training program. However, her first attempt ended prematurely after just 12 hours, when she sustained a bicep tendon strain in her left arm, making it impossible to continue.

Despite the setback, Vinsun remained committed to her goal. With persistence, she recovered, resumed training, and ultimately succeeded in completing 7,079 pull-ups, shattering the previous record and setting a new global benchmark in strength and endurance.

Her achievement has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records, and she now hopes to inspire others—especially women—to pursue fitness goals that once seemed out of reach.
