Fawad, Asif Set Up 15-run FATA Win Over Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th August, 2016) : Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) captain Fawad Khan's 94-run blitz and slow left-arm bowler Asif Ali's four-wicket haul powered their side to a 15-run win over Rawalpindi in a Cool & Cool presents Jazz National T20 match here at Pindi Stadium, Rawalpindi on Friday. FATA, who chose to bat after winning the toss posted a decent total of 162 on the board for the lost of just two wickets.
Fawad Khan, who opened the innings with seasoned Yasir Hameed faced just 51 balls for his 94-run knock, hammering eight sixes and seven boundaries before he was bowled by Sohail Tanvir. Yasir, whose catch was taken by Umar Amin scored 16 on as many balls.
Mohammad Usman, who scored unbeaten 31 off 29, was another main contributor for them. Replying to that Rawalpindi scored 147 for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Openers Mukhtar Ahmed and Awais Zia departed after scoring 18 and 23 runs, respectively.
Zahid Mansoor (30) and Sohaild Tanvir (26) and Shadab Khan (17) were other main contributors for them. FATA's slow left-arm bowler Asif Ali took four wickets in his four overs, conceding just 20 runs at an economy rate of 5.00. Fawad Khan was declared man-of-the-match award for his match winning performance. Â Â
