Overseas Pakistanis Foundation To Exempt Tuition Fee Of Students

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th August, 2016) : Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) has decided to exempt tuition fee of those students studying in OPF schools and colleges whose parents are working in Saudi Oger and Saad Trading Company. The step is taken to provide relief to the families of Pakistani workers, says a press release here on Friday. On directives of the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Pir Syed Saddaruddin Shah Rashidi, OPF has announced the decision regarding exemption of tuition fee in OPF educational institutions for the children of Pakistanis working in Saudi Oger and Saad Trading Company, who are suffering due to stoppage of their salaries.
The applicants would have to forward their applications through Pakistan Embassy in Saudi Arabia to get fee exemption. In a statement issued here, Managing Director Habibur Rehman Gilani said that OPF always stood with the Pakistani diaspora and their dependents, "We will never let them alone in their difficult times," he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that on the directives of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistani and Human Resource Development Pir Syed Saddaruddin Shah Rashidi has recently visited Saudi Arabia to resolve the issues being faced by the Pakistani workers there. During his visit, he met with Saudi Ministers and discussed issues and problems being faced by Pakistani workers. The Saudi high officials have assured for early resolution of problems being faced by Pakistani workers. The Federal Minister also visited camps of Pakistani workers and assured that the interests of Pakistani workers will be protected and their all legitimate dues will be paid to them.
