Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -25th Augst,2016) : Two ships C.V Maersk Salina and M.T Tomson Gas carrying containers and LPG were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal and SSGC Terminal respectively on Wednesday. Meanwhile three more ships C.V Mataquito, M.T Gas Lion and M.T Bunga Alamanda carrying containers, LPG and Palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during a last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was maintained at the port at 47% on Wednesday where a total of seven berths were engaged by ships namely C.V Maersk Salina, C.V Ak-Khor, M.V Katerina, M.T Tomson Gas, M.T Liberty-N, M.T CT Dublin and M.T Karachi to load/offload containers, soya bean seeds, LPG, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 114,323 tonnes, comprising 78,375 tonnes import cargo and 35,948 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,292 containers (TEUs) (1,400 imports TUEs & 1,892 TUEs exports) was handled at the prot during last 24 hours. Five ships C.V Ak-Khor, M.T Tomson Gas, m.T Liberty-N, M.T CT Dublin and M.T Karachi sailed out to sea on Thursday morning. Four ships C.V Mataquito, M.T Gas Lion, M.T T Pacific Singapore and at Container Terminal, SSGC Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Terminal respectively on Thursday, while two more container vessels Atacama and Unit Florida are due to arrive on Friday.
