Kashmiri Americans To Hold Protest March In Chicago Against Indian Atrocities

CHICAGO, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -25th Augst,2016) : Kashmiri Americans will hold a protest march this week in the city of Chicago against the ongoing atrocities in the Indian-held Kashmir which has claimed more than 65 lives since July. The demonstration to be held on Aug 28 will be attended by a large number of Kashmiris from the city and adjoining states, its organizers said, adding that it will protest against gross human rights violations in the Indian-held valley where media there is a complete media blackout to prevent news reaching the world over about Indian violence against innocent Muslim Kashmiris.
Most part of the valley is under curfew fir the last 46 days when protest broke out following the killing of a young Kashmiri freedom fighter Burhan Wani by Indian security forces.
Since then Indian troops have unleashed a wave of violence and have killed innocent people, including women and children.
Majority of the injured face a fate worse than death due to loss of permanent eye sight and other limbs as a result of pellet guns use. The valley is also witnessing the worst case of media blackout as Indian authorities are trying to hide its suppressive activities from the eyes of the world.
According to reports all tv channels and there is a complete internet and mobile phone blackout. The army has ordered to burn all copies of newspapers in the Valley. The protest is being organized to demands Indian Government to stop the indiscriminate killings of civilians and lift draconian media blackout of the region.
