87,000 Pakistani Pilgrims Reach Saudi Arabia For Hajj

ISLAMABAD, Aug 24 (APP) : As many as 87,000 Pakistani Hajj pilgrims have so far reached Saudi Arabia for the annual Hajj pilgrimage. Spokesman Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Noor Zaman said that the month long Hajj flights operation was started on August 4, and would continue till September 5.
The Hujjaj were being transported to Suadi Arabia from ten gateways including Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Multan, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Rahimyar Khan and Sukkur.
As many as 143,368 Hujjaj would perform the sacred religious ceremony this year.
He said this year intending pilgrims were being provided meal, residence and transport facilities. Special teams of doctors were checking the standard of food. Intending pilgrims have been provided new model busses this year, he said adding that the ministry has already activated Helpline and Hajj Inquiry Cell which is working round the clock to facilitate the pilgrims.
