Shama Lions Win Azadi Cricket Cup

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23th August, 2016) : Shama Lions defeated Shama Dolphin in a dramatically ended by two runs in the final of the Janshan-e-Azadi cricket Tournament organized by Shama Club here at Gymkhana Cricket Ground on Wednesday. Chairman Town-I sports Committee and Nazim UC-12 Muhammad Usman was the chief guest on this occasion.
President Shama Club and former Secretary Peshawar District Cricket Association, Coach Fazali Haq, officials and players were also present. Shama Lions skipper Ahmad Nadeem won the toss and elected to bat first by setting up 120 runs.
For Shama Lions Noor Muhammad scored 36 runs with three boundaries and one six, Mamoon Ibrahim scored 35 runs, Muhammad Haroon and Adil Shah scored 17 runs.
For Shama Dolphin skipper Adil Amin, Haroon, Sadaqat took two wickets each while Arsalan got one wicket. In reply, Shama Dolphin Club chased the target on the last ball of the last overs for the loss of nine wickets with Adil Amin smashed a cracking six runs on the last ball when team needed four runs.
Adil hit a beautiful 56 runs and Zahid scored 21 runs. For Shama Lions Aziz got three wickets. Usman and Ahmad took two wickets each. Muhammad Haroon and Mahaz got one wicket. Thus Shama Dolphin won the match by one wicket. At the end, the chief guest gave away trophies and cash prizes to the winners and runners-up.
Adil Amin was declared as best batsman who scored three 50 runs in as many matches.
