Two Link Bridges, Tube Well Inaugurated To Facilitate People Of Jamrud

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23th August, 2016) : Two newly constructed link bridges have been opened for traffic in Jamrud, tehsil of Khyber Agency. Member of National Assembly (MNA) Alhaaj Shah Jee Gul inaugurated the two bridges in Ghundi and Ali Masjid area with cost of Rs 38 million and Rs 40 million respectively, reported a private news channel.
He said that a number of construction works on roads, tube wells, electricity and bridges were underway that would bring progress and prosperity to the region. Hundreds of people are expected to use the two link bridges for transportation on daily basis. The local people have lauded the construction of two bridges in Jamrud and termed it key to the progress and development of the region.
Bismillah Jan, a local resident of Ali Masjid, said previously a number of people and vehicles have been washed away by flash floods in the stream in Ali Masjid locality. Besides, people could not travel through the stream after 8 pm due to fear of robbery and target killing, he said adding at times of deliveries, pregnant women and their relative would prefer to stay at home instead of going to hospitals through the stream. "Now with the construction of bridge, we feel protected from robbers and flash floods, " he explained.
