Employability can be assured by quality training: Cheema

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th August, 2016) : Hundred-percent employability can be assured only through high quality and international-standard training being imparted to the trainees said Executive Director NAVTTC, Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema on Wednesday. He was chairing a first ever video conference, in which many high level officials participated from Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta. The participants in the meeting declared "Integrity, Quality, Service and Employability" as the core values of National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC). During the session, status of the ongoing training under Prime Minister Youth Skill Development Phase-III was thoroughly evaluated and further reforms were discussed to make the existing setup more transparent, effective and meaningful. Zulfiqar Cheema urged the participants to find solutions to the problems of the trainees and ensure provision of monthly stipend in time so that their interest and enthusiasm remain intact and they focus on their training.

He said that NAVTTC is organizing Midterm Skill Competitions across the country. It would not only helpful in promoting healthy competitions among the students but also boosting their morale.

He added that their enthusiasm can be witnessed through their skills which they are exhibiting in these competitions. Moreover, they will be able to enhance and improve their skills further.

He added that many renowned industrialists have offered them jobs during these competitions. Zulfiqar Cheema said that training under the second batch of PMYSDP-Phase III will commence in the last week of November in which 25000 students will be imparted with state-of-the-art training in various marketable skills including agriculture, photography, ceramics, Media training, leather products, ship/boat making, sales work, textile, fan and furniture etc.

He said that with the collaboration of various renowned industries, soon one-year courses would be started in paramedics and pharmaceuticals which would increase the chances of employability manifold. Zulfiqar Cheema said that for the guidance of youth, Job Placement Centers would also be established at Lahore and Karachi by the end of November and steps would be taken to provide them with jobs both at domestic and international market.
