Biometric System To Be Implemented To Ensure Transparency: DG BISP

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th August, 2016) : Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is playing vital role in poverty alleviation and women empowerment and main purpose of the programme was to make women brave enough to handle any adverse situation without any fear and panic. This was stated by Naeem Anwar, Regional Director General (Sindh), Benazir Income Support Programme while presiding over the meeting with all Divisional Directors of BISP Sindh Region, says a press release. During the meeting, the DG discussed upcoming National Socio Economic Registry (NSER) in Sukkur, Jacobabad and Thatta districts and reiterated that the new poverty survey would be transparent and BISP would put in hard efforts to make it the best in the world.
He further added that new poverty survey would employ the latest technology and every deserving woman would be part of the updated NSER. The DG said that the empowerment of women can help eliminate poverty in the region and BISP is sincere in its efforts to eradicate poverty and remains committed to provide financial assistance to the deserving families all across the region. No slackness will be tolerated on the part of any official at any level in relation to disbursement of cash grant and distribution of BDC cards, he added. During the meeting DG BISP issued instructions to all officers and officials to speed up operations and quick redressal of beneficiaries grievances and to facilitate deserving people.
