AIOU To Strengthen Students' Support System

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -24th Augst,2016) : Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has decided to further strengthen its 44 regional campuses across the country to upgrade students' support system. Vice Chancellor Prof.
Dr. Shahid Siddiqui through video-conferencing directed the regional directors to provide the best possible services to the students in the admission, study and examination process, said a press release on Wednesday.
Dr. Siddiqui also advised to keep their offices open for attending students' proposals and complaints. The director should meet the students' academics needs on fast-track basis. The Vice Chancellor hoped that the regions will fully facilitate the students in the on-going admission (Autumn 2016) that will continue till September 5.
They will set up information camps in their respective regions to guide and help the students. It was decided that the regional campuses will focus on improving quality of education and professional development. Dr.
Shahid Siddiqui said the campuses will be given extra support by meeting their financial, technical and human- resource requirements, enabling them to cope with their targets of maximum students' enrollment and strengthening students' support system.
They should adopt a pro-active approach to provide best possible services to the students in term of admissions, issuance of certificates and degrees, timely mailing of books and holding of exams.
He assured that the employees' strength will be increased at the regional level to handle the growing workload. It was noted there had been an upward trend of University's admissions in various programs during the recent semesters.
The regional directors gave presentation on academic situation of their respective campuses and departments, with their recommendations for upgrading the educational services. Director Regional Service Arif Saleemi briefed the participants about the steps taken during the last one year to further strengthening of regional network.
