Ombudsman Secretariat for PAHWW establishes online complain system

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -24th Augst,2016) : Federal Ombudsman Secretariat for the Protection Against Harassment of Women at Workplace (PAHWW) has created an online complain system to facilitate working women facing severe challenging. An official of the office told APP that any complain under the Act of 2010 for Protection Against Harassment of Women at Workplace can be made online by visiting www.fos-pah.gov.pk or sending email at [email protected]. The complains can also be registered through sending application at fax no.

The office has so far registered 382 cases since 2011 to April this year among which 375 have been disposed off while seven cases are under proceedings. Among these 278 cases were filed by women while 97 were filed by males. According to official data received to APP, 31 cases were registered in 2011, 53 in 2012, 79 in 2013, 31 in 2014, 122 in 2015, and 59 in first four months of the current year.

The province wise breakdown of the data, in 2011, nine cases were filed from Federal Capital, eight from Punjab and seven each from Sindh and Khaber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) whereas no cases was filed from Baluchistan and Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA). In 2012, 21 cases were filed from Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), 13 from Punjab, five from Sindh, 12 from KP, and one each from Balochistan and FATA. In 2013, 31 reported each from ICT and Punjab, nine from Sindh, four each from KP and Balochistan while no case received from FATA. In 2014, 12 filed from ICT, nine from Punjab, seven from Sindh, and two each from KP and Balochistan with no case from FATA. In 2015 46 reported from ICT, 51 from Punjab, 14 from Sindh, six from KP, four from Balochistan and one from FATA. While in the first four months of the current year 22 filed from ICT, 25 from Punjab, nine from Sindh and one each from KP and Balochistan.
