LHC moved for cancellation of MQM registration

LAHORE, (Pakistan Point News - APP - 23th August, 2016) : A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking directions to cancel Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) registration as a political party. Advocate Sardar Aftab Virk in his plea submitted that it was mandatory for every political party to be patriotic. He contended that the MQM was not a patriotic party as its chief Altaf Hussain was involved in anti-Pakistan activities and he delivered speeches against the country. The petitioner requested the court to issue directions for the cancellation of MQM registration as a political party. The petitioner made Election Commission of Pakistan, Interior Ministry and others respondents in the petition.
