Elections Of Mayor/Deputy Mayor On Wednesday

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23th August, 2016) : The elections for the posts of mayor/deputy mayor,chairman/vice chairman of local Councils,Town Committee, Municipal Committee, Municipal Corporations, District Municipal Corporations, Metropolitan Corporation and District Councils in Sindh will be held on Wednesday August 24 form 9:00 am to 05:00 pm.

It is to clarify that under the provision of Section 6 of the Electoral Act, 1974, voters of the Electoral College of aforementioned local councils will produce original CNIC before the respective Presiding Officer and cast his/her vote irrespective of expire of validity period of his/her CNIC as issued by the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA). Further that all voters will be present in the polling station and allowed to cast their votes beyond 05:00 pm, said a press release issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) here on Tuesday.
