The cable car station to reach holy Ghar-e-Hira would be located at an altitude of 634 meters on the sacred mountain in Makkah
RIYADH: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-August 16th, 2024) The cable car project to holy Ghar-e-Hira at Jabal Al-Nour in Saudi Arabia would be operational next year, a cable car company announced on Friday.
The Arab Media reported that the cable car station to reach holy Ghar-e-Hira would be located at an altitude of 634 meters on the sacred mountain in Makkah.
Fawaz Al-Mohrej, the CEO of Samaya Investment Company, said that the project is in its final stages of completion.
The CEO shared that the project would be open to visitors by next year. The cable car project is part of the “Hira Cultural District,” which was inaugurated last year in Saudi Arabia and covers an area of over 67,000 square meters.
For elderly pilgrims, the steep mountain and rocky path to the Cave of Hira had long posed challenges, but earlier this year, a paved road was inaugurated, making the journey somewhat easier.
However, once the cable car project is launched, the journey to the peak of the sacred mountain will become much more accessible for visitors.
