71th Death Anniversary Of Poet Akhtar Shirani Observed

The 71th death anniversary of renowned Urdu poet Akhtar Shirani was observed on Saturday in the country and tributes were paid to him by the electronic Tv channels

ISLAMABAD, Sep 9 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Sep, 2017 ) : The 71th death anniversary of renowned urdu poet Akhtar Shirani was observed on Saturday in the country and tributes were paid to him by the electronic tv channels.

According to Radio Pakistan, he was born in 1905 in State of Tonk.

His father was also a renowned researcher and professor who spent whole of his life in Lahore. He was a romantic Urdu poet. His real name was Mohammad Daud Shirani.

Akhtar Shirani was popular lyrics writer and his famous books of lyrics are: "Subah-e-Bahar", "Aakharistan", "Lala-e-Tayoor", "Naghma-e-Haram" and "Phoolon ke Geet". The most read topic of Akhtar's Shairy was "Aurat". He died in Lahore in 1948 in an age of 43.
