After PML-N, PPP files review petition in SC against reserved seats verdict

The PPP argued that seats had been assigned to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) without merit and urged the Supreme Court to revisit its earlier decision.

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-July 23rd, 2024) Pakistan People's Party (PPP) approached the Supreme Court to challenge a previous full court decision regarding the allocation of reserved seats to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

This move by the PPP comes after a similar petition was filed by the PML-N.

Representing the PPP, Farooq H. Naik submitted a review petition seeking reconsideration of the decision concerning the reserved seats. The PPP contested the Supreme Court's ruling made on July 12 concerning the allocation of these seats and requested a fresh review.

The PPP argued that seats had been assigned to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) without merit and urged the Supreme Court to revisit its earlier decision.

Earlier, on July 15, 2022, the PML-N had also approached the Supreme Court with a similar petition seeking a review of decisions related to specific seats.
