Shahbaz Taseer Kidnapping Case Adjourned

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th August, 2016) : An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday adjourned the hearing of Shahbaz Taseer kidnapping case till September 7. ATC-I Judge Azizullah Kalo conducted the case proceedings. Earlier, investigation officer appeared before the court on being summoned and submitted that the statement of Shahbaz Taseer had not yet been recorded. A deputy prosecutor apprised the court that the accused Usman and Abdur Rehman were imprisoned in Sahiwal central Jail.
At this, the court adjourned the hearing till September 7 and ordered to present the said accused on next hearing.
The court also summoned the other two accused on next hearing. The court had consigned the case to record in 2014 and it was reopened on last hearing while allowing an application filed by one of the alleged accused, Usman.
Shahbaz Taseer, son of slain former Punjab governor Salman Taseer, was recovered in March 2016, nearly five years after his abduction in 2011 from Lahore. The police had registered a against alleged accused Abdur Rehman, Farhad, Moazzam and Usman.
