ECP Fix Dates For Postal Ballot Papers

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th August, 2016) : The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will receive applications for postal ballot papers for by-election in constituency PP-7 of Rawalpindi till September 9.

According to a notification, this facility is being extended only to persons in government service, members of the armed forces, public officials and their dependents, who are registered voters and reside at a place other than their home constituency.

Those detained in prison are entitled to vote through postal ballot. The last date for postal ballot application for polling personnel and police personnel serving in a place other than their home constituency has also been fixed as September 16.

Presiding officers, and all polling staff, and police personnel who have been assigned duties at the polling stations, can also apply for postal ballot by September 16, after their appointment as polling personnel have been finalized and indicated to them.

Applications for postal ballot can be obtained from the returning officer and should be submitted to him. Voters who are issued postal ballots will not be entitled to vote in person at the polling stations. The seat fell vacant due to death of PTI MPA Siddique Khan.
