ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th August, 2016) : General Secretary of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Shabbir Ahmad Shah has rejected the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi's statement that a solution to the Kashmir dispute needed to be found out within the framework of the Indian constitution. According to Kashmir Media Service, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said Kashmir was not a part of India and that its people demanded its settlement as per UN resolutions or through tripartite dialogue.
"India has usurped the territory and is controlling it with military might besides it is denying its people their right to decide their future," he said. He said the people of Kashmir were not sacrificing their lives for any development or employment but for securing the right acknowledged by the international community.
"Even there are 18 resolutions passed by the UN Security Council regarding the dispute which too are acknowledged by the world community so there is no point resolving this issue within the framework of Indian constitution," he said. Terming the remarks of Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley as provocative, Shabbir Shah said despite using the worst kind of oppression against Kashmiris for the last 70 years, Indian rulers were yet to comprehend that the people of Kashmir never succumbed to such state-sponsored brutalities but continued fighting against the forcible rule of India with utmost steadfastness.
Hurriyet leaders Muhammad Yousuf Naqash and Bilal Siddiqui in their statements also rejected Modi's remarks on Kashmir.
